Ligi Ndogo's Planets midfielder Kibet Kilele is currently topping the score charts in the ongoing Keele Cup International Festival (formerly known as Umbro Cup) at the Keele University Complex, Staffordshire.
The player has so far netted four goals in the three games for the Planets so far and has played an outstanding roles for his side that has lost a single match, won another and drew in their third match on Thursday 25 July 2013.
Word from the CEO
-Considering that he is a midfielder
and not a striker, that is indeed impressive. So far he has been the platter of
the tournament for Ligi Ndogo. The goals have also been greatly outstanding each being a gem, a combination of deft skill, speed, quick
thinking and exquisite finish, Ligi's CEO Chris Amimo told Futaa.com.
-In two of the goals, he has weaved past no less than three defenders before deftly placing the ball beyond the keeper's reach. In another
one, he chipped the keeper after rounding off the last man with great skill.
Certainly this is his moment and that is why we nominate him as man of the
moment for the tournament, he added.
Kibet has been part of Ligi's structure and was also impressive while playing for the U14 team back in 2010 where he was aroused interest from top South London based scout Errol Johnson that saw him lined up for trials at Millwall Academy and Crystal Palace.
This is the eighth time that the academy will take part in the Keele International Cup since their maiden appearance in 2004.
Ligi's best performance was however in 2008 when they won the main cup in the under 12 category. The academy previously won the under 13 plate trophy in 2006 and 2007 consecutively.
