Gor Mahia has confirmed the acquisition of six-foot-two keeper Zachary Onyango ahead of the 2013 season.

This has been confirmed by the club’s acting team manager Abdul Iddi Salim

Three post match penalties

-We (Gor) have signed him up for a year and a half, he said to futaa.com

In October 2011, Zakary crossed over to Ethiopia where to join Ethiopia Coffee.

He played a key role for Sofapaka when the team played in the CAF Confederations Cup especially in a preliminary tie against Angola’s AS Aviacao where he saved three post match penalties to send the team to the first round.

At Sofapaka he had competition from four other keepers; Duncan Ochieng, George Opiyo, Pascal Penda and Wilson Obungu.

At Gor he will compete for playtime with Jerim [Frederick] Onyango and Tanzanian Ivo Mapunda.

He fills up the slot left by Wycliffe Kasaya who has since been dropped by the club.
