Gatundu Stars’ Coach Shadrack Ateka has made good his
promise to step out from the team’s technical bench after their Friday 1 June
match, against Bidco United.
Explaining his reasons for leaving, Ateka says that the
pressure on the second tier league was getting to him.
-The expectations and demands of the Division One league are
very high and they became too much for me, he told Futaa.com.
-I need some time out to get myself in the right frame of mind for such responsibility.
He leaves the team at the hands of senior players, though he
promises to always be at hand to offer technical guidance when called upon to.
-I will still be involved in football, but in lower
divisions. I will, however, from time to time check on Gatundu to see how they are fairing.
