Inter shares spoils with Genoa

McDonald Mariga’s Inter was forced to come from behind to share the spoils with Genoa as the two teams drew 1-1 in a game played at the San Siro on Saturday 22 December 2012 from 1430hrs local time.

The game went to the break tied at 0-0 and it took another 32 minutes into the second half for the deadlock to be broken.


Genoa striker Ciro Immobile got a goal in the 77th minute to send his team 1-0 up. The lead lasted eight minutes as Esteban Cambiasso made use of an assist from Antonio Cassano to level the game.

Kenyan midfielder Mariga was an unused substitute in the game.

The last

With a point, Inter improved to 35 points with Genoa moving up from 13 to 14 points. The results means Inter and Genoa remained second and 19thth respectively after 18 rounds in the 20-team log.

The game was the last for the two sides in the league in 2012.
