Defensive midfielder Denis Hamisi, who had attracted the
interest of Premier League side Muhoroni Youth FC, has signed with Division One
side West Kenya Sugar FC.
The player was also being
sought-after by his former Soin Flourspar side and Magongo Rangers.
Explaining his decision, Hamisi said
that he wanted to learn more from West Kenya’s new Coach Eric Omukuya, who he
believes will turn him into an even better player.
-It was very hard to make a choice
between the Premier League and the Division one. It is any player’s dream to
play in the top tier but in making my selection, I had to look at a number of
thing, Hamisi told Futaa.com.
-My final decision was informed by
the fact that in West Kenya I will get the chance to play under the guidance of
Omukuya (the under 17 national team Coach). He is a coach that any player would
like to be handled by and I am certain he will steer the team to the first tier
in the next season.
Hamisi bowed out of Flourspar at the
end of the 2012 season, after which announcement he has drawn interest from
both the first and second tier leagues.
