Gunners claim ownership of Gor Mahia's latest target

Former Kenya Premier League (KPL) Champions Gor Mahia have been reported to have been chasing after the signature of defender Mohammed Karim Macqbul as a possible replacement for the 2016 KPL Most Valuable Player and defender Eric Obura ’Marcelo’.

FKF South Coast Branch club Gunners Youth FC have now come open and declared Macqbul is their duly signed player and that any development fees should be channeled the club.

Gunners Youth FC Team Manager Hussein Omar Marie alias Amo has confirmed that Macbul featured for the club in the FKF South Coast Branch League (FKF SCBL).

-It has come tour notice that Gor Mahia are keen on signing Mohammed Karim Macqbul. Gunners Youth FC wish to state categorically that Macqbul is  duly signed with the club and has featured in the FKF SCBL and we have never released him. While we have no objection in Makbul joining the former PKL champions or any other club of his choice we maintain that due process has to be followed in regard to transfer regulations, said Hussein.

Prime target 

Hussein revealed that he has been in talks with Gor Mahia CEO Lordvick Omondi Aduda over the matter which Aduda confirmed and hoped that the talks will be fruitful.

Macbul was spotted by Kogallo during the Super Eight Tournament held in Nairobi while playing for Jericho All Stars.

Gor Mahia CEO Lordvick Omondi Aduda disclosed he the club will make a decision on the issue after meeting Jericho All Stars officials in Nairobi to hear their side of the story.

It will be interesting to see how Gor Mahia will handle the matter given that Jericho All Stars are not affiliated with Football Kenya Federation having participated in the Unsanctioned Extremes Sports Limited organized tournament.

The FKF Annual General Meeting held in October 2016  in Nairobi approved among other Resolutions that clubs participating in leagues and tournaments organized by Extremes Sports Limited be suspended for six years and will not will not accrue benefits such as transfer fees when the player moves from one club to another.
