Gor's new man reflects on 2016 exploits

Immediate former Western Stima skipper Joash Onyango Rio has maintained that a second place finish was within the club's reach in the 2016 Kenya Premier League (KPL) season.

Onyango was among the club's mainstays tasked with defensive duties for the Kisumu based side en route to one of its best ever league runs in the club's history. 
Team work, Utility
He opined to Futaa on the spurring factors that inspired the club to feat.
-Team work and unity within the team were the major driving force in the season. We had a united front and always fought together as a team for every available point. We should have ended the campaign as runners up except for some result that dragged us back late on in the league, Onyango told futaa

Among other notable highlights for the defender was earning his call up to the national team, Harambee Stars as Stima also earned its spot in the KPL Top 8 games.
