Trouble started just seven minutes to the final whistle and later proceeded with the fans breaking into the stadium as the match approached the final whistle.
According to KPL official Website Gor Mahia FC will have to appear before the Independent Disciplinary and Complaints Committee (IDCC) on a date that will be confirmed later to them to show cause why disciplinary action should not be taken against the club.
In the letter to Gor, KPL Chief Executive Officer Jack Oguda notes that during the 83rd minute of the match, members, supporters and/or fans of Gor Mahia FC who were sitting on the terraces (Russia) caused the match to be stopped for 12 minutes after they threw stones and bottles to the field of play, conduct that is contrary to Rules 3.3, 3.4 (a), 6.1 and 7.7 of the Rules of Kenyan Football.
The League further notes that during the last minute of the match, members, supporters and/or fans of Gor Mahia FC, who were sitting on the terraces, invaded the pitch and as a result led to the match ending prematurely, contrary to Rules 3.3, 3.4 (a) and 7.7 of the Rules of Kenyan Football.
