Finally, the Gor Mahia FC fraternity has something to smile about after the Sports Stadia Management Board [SSMB] lifted the ban that barred the Kenyan Premier League giants from using its facilities; the Nyayo National Stadium and Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.

The ban was imposed on K'ogalo in March 2012, after Gor fans were accused of causing fracas during a first leg KPL derby against their arch-rivals AFC Leopards

Kasarani any time

In an interview with futaa.com, SSMB Public Relations Officer Rakki Mannaseh Asman said that the decision was reached a few days ago after officials from both parties met at Kasarani.

-We have had some talks with Gor and we have actually appreciated the efforts that they have tried to make in terms of resolving the problem, said Rakki.

-Now we have agreed that they can use Kasarani Stadium for their events and before they use Nyayo Stadium, there will be a joint community work between SSMB and Gor; we try to clear the loose stones around the Stadium and after then they can as well use Nyayo, he added.

However, SSMB is yet to pick a date for the Community Social Responsibility (CSR) at Nyayo and they believe that Gor will abide by the conditions.

-We had given conditions earlier and those are the ones that they have responded to, we hope that they will continue with what we have agreed; we are grateful they identified the culprits who caused chaos and we will continue working with them, stated Rakki.
