The finer details for
the DStv SuperSport Cup match pitting the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions
Gor Mahia against Top 8 Cup winners Tusker FC at the Moi International Sports Centre (MISC) Kasarani, have been ironed out in a meeting
between the match sponsors DStv/SuperSport and organizers, the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) held on Thursday 5 December.
The two teams are scheduled to face off on Saturday 14
December in a season ending clash on a date that was well picked to coincide
with Kenya’s switch from analog to digital signal which will be on the day
prior to the game.
Among the modalities agreed on in the meeting is that in the
case of a draw in the regular 90 minutes, the match will head to extra time of
30 minutes then if the teams still tie at the 120th minute mark they
will head to penalties to break the tie.
The winners in the clash will bag Kshs 750,000 while the
losers will take home Kshs 500,000.
Super Cup still on
It is also important to note that the traditional season
opener, the DStv Super Cup will still be on ahead of the new season in 2014.
The participating teams will be Gor Mahia (KPL champions) against AFC Leopards
(the GOtv Shield winners).
