With the January transfer window fast approaching, English Premier League side Fulham are making plans to have McDonald Mariga join them.

The team first announced interest in the 25-year-old Kenyan midfielder in October 2012 and reports indicate that the club boss Martin Jol has set out £2.5million (approx. KSh300 million ) to lure the player to his side.

Mariga moved to Inter Milan in 2010 after having served fellow Serie A side Parma FC. He later moved to Spanish la Liga side Real Sociedad, before returning to Parma, on loan.

At the beginning of the current season, he returned to his parent side, but picked a knee injury early in the year, to see him stay out of competitive play for seven months.

He has recently returned to active play making a number of brief appearances for Inter.

According to FCInternews Mariga is expected to formally ask for permission from the club on 3 January to move out on a loan spell that will potentially see him get more playing time.

The source also indicates that Inter coach Andrea Stramaccioni has promised not to stand in the way of the player’s move to another team.
