On Wednesday 26 September 2012 Football Kenya Federation (FKF) slapped Mohammed Kheri , the Technical Director of Sparki Youth with a one year ban.

Fight back

Kheri is said to have been part of an incident that saw a referee assaulted – then hospitalize at the weekend when his side Sparki played away to Admiral in a Coast derby.

While Kheri got a year’s ban, the team’s Assistant Coach was handed a life ban from football activities and the club docked six points.

But Kheri, while stating his innocence, is ready to fight back

-The whole episode has been translated wrongly, said Kheri to

Sad day for football

-I shielded the referee from the mob. I am the one who gave him first aid. I am the one who ordered for a car to come and take him to Hospital.

-I even got blows for trying to save the referee. If this is a crime then so be it

-The Committee simply wants to capitalize on the Mohammed Kheri name. This is the saddest day of my life. This is a sad day for football.

But he will not take the ban lying down, he promises to fight back

-I have never been suspended and never shall I be suspended. I know the rules

-The sitting Committee needs to go for the truth. This is a vendetta against me. I will challenge this ruling and the truth shall prevail, he concluded

Mohammed Kheri was the Harambee Stars Coach in 2005.
