The Football Kenya Federation has suspended all clubs that participate in ‘unsanctioned leagues’ organized by Extreme Sports Limited.
In a letter written by the General Secretary addressed to all FKF branches, the Federation also suspended all officials’ from clubs participating in the leagues organized by Extreme sports for a period of six years.
Here is how the letter reads:
The football Kenya Federation national Executive committee in its meeting on the 10th of August 2016 adopted the following resolutions on individuals, clubs and players who organize and participate in unsanctioned football leagues and Tournaments organized by the company known as Extreme Sports Limited.
1. All clubs that Participate in leagues and Tournaments that are organized by Extreme sports Limited are suspended for a period of six years from the date of this notice.
2.Suspension of all individuals involved in organization of Extreme sports leagues and Tournaments whether they are currently members or will seek to be members of FKF in the future for a period of six years from the date of this notice.
3. Suspension of all officials of clubs participating in leagues and Tournaments organized by Extreme Sports Limited for a period of six years from the date of this notice.
4. All players participating in leagues and Tournaments Organized by Extreme Sports Limited are free players and can join other clubs during the specified transfer period. The FKF-affiliated club that the player joins will appear as the first club in the player’s passport. The clubs participating in the Leagues and tournaments Organized by Extreme Sports Limited will therefore not accrue benefits such as Transfer fees, training compensation or solidarity payments when the players move from one club to another.
Extreme Sports limited is yet to comment on the matter.
