Sofapaka defender Felly Mulumba is irked at the fact that
his team failed to keep a clean sheet for the second game in a row when they
defeated Mahakama FC in the third round of the President’s Cup at the Moi
International Sports Centre (MISC) Kasarani on Saturday 1 September.
The 2010 winners won the game 4 – 2 to advance to the
quarter finals but had to hold off the second tier side who piled much pressure
towards the end of the game and the Congolese born defender admits that to give
a serious challenge they need to tighten at the back.
-I am happy that we moved to the next stage of the
tournament. Mahakama was a difficult side, especially towards the end and we
were lucky that they missed a late penalty.
-The big problem is that we are finding clean sheets hard to
come by, which could be detrimental if we want to mount a serious challenge for
titles this season. We need to start shutting out teams, he told futaa.com.
Sofapaka will in the next stage meet AFC Leopards who
defeated Congo United in the third round.
