The opening rounds of
matches in the upcoming CECAFA Senior Challenge will be played in venues in
Nairobi and Machakos, for logistical reasons.
According to the CECAFA Secretary General Mr. Nicholas
Musonye, as quoted by The New Times, the other venues being prepared will only
be considered for the knockout matches, a move he said gives times for the
completion of their renovation.
-For easier management and coordination, we will have the
preliminary matches in Nairobi and Machakos then the other towns – Kisumu,
Mombasa and Mumias – will host some knockout matches, Musonye said.
The tournament is scheduled to kick off on Wednesday 27
