After an impressive 8-1 aggregate win over South Sudan’s El Nasir in the CAF Confederations Cup preliminary round, Tanzanian big shots Azam FC are through to the first round of the competition that kicks off in mid March 2013.

On Sunday Azam completed a 5-0 away win over El Nasir in the second leg tie to add on to the 3-1 first round score two weeks before.

Second round

Next up for Azam is Liberia’s Barrack Young Controllers II who struggled to beat Sierra Leone’s FC Johansen 1-0 on aggregate. The side won the first leg 1-0 and managed a 0-0 draw in the reverse tie played on Sunday.

Azam will start off in Liberia on Saturday 16 March before hosting Barrack Young Controllers II in the second leg on Saturday 6 April.

The aggregate winner will make the second round to face the winner between Morocco’s FAR Rabat and Libya’s Al-Nasr.
