Ghana’s Asante Kotoko qualified for the first round of the 2013 CAF Champions League with an 8-0 aggregate win over Equatorial Guinea’s CD Elá Nguema whom they beat 1-0 on Sunday 3 March 2013.

Yusuf Abdul Aziz scored the lone goal, in the 64th minute, in the Sunday reverse tie played at the Nuevo Malabo Stadium. The scores added on to the 7-0 rout of the same side in Ghana two weeks back to make it 8-0 on aggregate.

Kotoko will meet Algeria’s JSM Béjaïa who qualified for the first round on Friday after knocking off Niger’s Olmpic Niamey 3-0 on aggregate.

The first leg ties in the first round will be played in mid March with the return games set for 5-7 April.
