Ahead of the Monday draw for the Domestic Cup, Football
Kenya Federation (FKF) can confirm that by Thursday 26 July 2012, 32 teams had
registered for the annual knockout tournament after paying the mandatory Kshs
15,000 entry fee.
Eight KPL teams have
Of the 32, eight Kenyan Premier League (KPL) teams have
confirmed participation for the tournament that kicks off on Saturday 4 August
Defending Champions Gor Mahia, 2010 Champions Sofapaka as
well as 2009 Champions AFC Leopards have all confirmed participation.
Western Stima, Ulinzi Stars, Chemelil Sugar and Tusker are
the other KPL sides that have also confirmed participation.
Division One clubs
11 of 40 Division One clubs are also in the competition as
well as 13 other teams most of which play in respective Provincial Leagues.
Mahakama, KRA, Nairobi Stima, Bidco United, Nzoia United,
Bandari, Admiral, Congo JMJ United, Kibera Celtic, Longonort Horticulture and
Mathare Youth are the clubs from Division One that have registered.
Isiolo Youth FC, Keroka Technical, Buru Buru Sacramento,
Malindi United, FC Talanta, Wamo, Wazito FC, Nakumatt FC, Taqwa FC and Maua United are the other clubs to have confirmed participation.
More teams are expected to register by the time the draw is held
on Monday 30 July.
