September 2012, Zimbabwe beat fancied Angola 3-1 in the first leg, second round
2013 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier played at Rufaro.
$1,000
The win handed keen Zimbabwe followers a firm belief that the team can now make it to the big African stage in 2013 for the first time since 2004.
The emphatic win left Zimabwe players all smiles as each got $3,000 dollars in rewards.
According to The Herald, Buymore Investments, a company owned by Zifa president Cuthbert Dube, handed each Zimbabwe player $1,000.
Need to protect
The players further received US$2 000 each from Mbada Diamonds, the principal sponsors of the team ahead of the clash with Angola.
Zimbabwe however need to protect their 3-1 first leg win in the trip to Angola in October to have a chance of being one of 15 teams that will qualify for the 2013 AFCON.
