Zidane wants to coach France

Zinedine Zidane
Zinedine Zidane has revealed he will sit his preliminary coaching exams this year and he hopes his managerial career will one day lead him to the very top.

Zidane, who led France to World Cup glory over Brazil as a player 14 years ago, admits it would be a special feeling to coach his national team at some point in the future.

Licence
But he is not looking too far ahead and at the moment is focusing solely on taking his first steps towards becoming a fully-fledged football coach.

Zidane, 40, told L'Equipe: - I'll pass my coaching diplomas... we'll see later on for the professional coaching licence.

- You have to start with something and I will start this year.

Question
Asked about the possibility of one day taking charge of France, the former Real Madrid midfielder added: - One day, why not coach this team?

- It's never the time to speak about it because there are always coaches in place, but you asked me the question, and you got my answer.
