Harambee Stars head coach Zedekiah Zico Otieno says that he is looking forward to the game on Saturday against Sudan at the Nyayo National Stadium. Speaking to the press after the first day of training, Zico said that the LG cup clash pitting Kenya against Sudan would be of help to the hosts.
-Sudan is no pushover team as you know they are joint leaders with Ghana in the group. I think they are going to give us a very good preparation match as we wait the remaining AFCON qualifier games, said the coach babbling with confidence.
AFCON groups
According to the coach, they are taking the match seriously and expect great result from the match. Sudan is in group I in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier tables together with Ghana, Congo and Swaziland.
Both Ghana and Sudan are at the top of the group with seven points but separated by goal difference.
Kenya on the other hand is in group J with Uganda, Guinea Bissau and Angola. Kenya is third after their loss to Angola away with four points as they await another away fixture against Uganda later in the year. The group is led by Uganda with 10 points.
