Zico: Awendo now among the best

Green Stadium
SoNy Sugar head coach Zedekiah Zico Otieno quips that the recently re-opened Awendo ground is among the best in the country.

After nearly eight months of repairs the Awendo ground was back in Kenyan Premier League reckoning over the past weekend, when SoNy hosted Western Stima.

The match ended 2-0 in SoNy's favour and after the routine win, Zico says they are very happy to be back home.

The best in the country

- We are happy to be back here. The ground looks very good and the players are very happy to be here.

- The ground at the moment is among the best in Kenya. I think that only Kasarani, City Stadium and Nyayo Stadium have better grounds.

- The game against Stima showed just how well we can do when here, so we are definitely happy to be back, he told Futaa.com.

SoNy need home ground

SoNy are usually one of the strongest sides at home in the KPL, which is great news for the club ahead of the KPL run-in.
