Kenya’s Harambee Stars is expected to play a couple of high profile friendly matches ahead of the 2014 World Cup qualifier tie against the Super Eagles of Nigeria in March 2013.
Stars suffered their first defeat under French Coach Henri Michel yesterday (Tuesday 12 October), when they lost 1-2 to visiting South Africa in an international friendly match, at Nyayo National Stadium.
Quality build-ups
However, according to Football Kenya Federation Chair Sam Nyamweya, they have received several international friendly invitations including Cameroon and Zambia.
-After yesterday’s game, a lot of nations have called in asking for friendlies. I want to assure all fans that by the time we play Nigeria next year, we will have played quality build-up matches.
-Cameroon has mailed us while Angola and Zambia have also called. They all want to play us, said Nyamweya during a media brief at Hilton Hotel, Nairobi.
