Yanga are currently placed second from bottom in the Western Zone of Kenya’s Division.
They also holds the unenviable record for awarding the most number of walkovers in the 2012 season.
Though in dire need of points, the team is currently facing skipping another match, after their request to have their Saturday 21 July match against top-placed Kakamega Homeboyz postponed was turned down.
-Seven of my players are playing in the ongoing School ball games, in Kapenguria, and it is for this reason I wrote to the federation requesting to have the match against Homeboyz postponed, Yanga’s head Coach Paul Githaiga told Futaa.com.
-I was only recently informed that the request failed to go through and it saddens me because I have seen teams place requests with weak reasons and still manage to get the fixtures reorganized.
-We are aware that Kakamega Homeboyz have a match against Nakuru AllStars on Sunday and we requested that the federation rearranges the schedule to have us play on Sunday and AllStars on Sunday, but even this comprise arrangement was turned down.
In the first leg of the season, the match against Homeboyz was awarded as a walkover.
Standings
Yanga have only managed nine points from 19 matches, while Homeboyz, the second best team have 48points, from 22 matches.
