Eight players in the books of Ugandan giants Sports Club Villa will have to bear the brunt of the power fights in the country’s football scene between the Federation of Ugandan Football Associations (FUFA) and the Ugandan Super League (USL).
The affected
According to Ugandan sports website kawowo.com, Herman Wasswa, Sulait Luyima, Misi Katende, Isaac Muleme, Robert Achema, Ronald Muganga, Isaac Kirabira and Moses Ndaula have all been fired.
The eight played for the SC Villa faction loyal to the federation in the FUFA – run FUFA Super League (FSL) which irked the team’s chairman Fred Muwema and in a statement ordered the players to pay sign on fees they were paid on joining the club, contract value in allowances and return club stuff failure to which the club will take legal action.
- If they can’t return the club’s items and money spent on them, they will go to court. They have 14 days to comply and as of now, they are not SC Villa players, he told the site.
