Earlier on Saturday 13 October 2013 , three West African Nations; Ghana, Mali, and Nigeria successfully qualified for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nation s to be held in South Africa from January.
Early end
Later, another West African side Ivory Coast’s qualification for the same was interrupted just after the 82nd minute as the side led host Senegal 0-2 in a 2130hrs kick at the Léopold Sédar Senghor Stadium.
Didier Drogba had scored twice against star studded Senegal – in the 52 minute with the second half an hour later – through a penalty.
But the home fans were infuriated and interfered with the game bringing it to an early end. Crowd trouble led to fires in the stands and fire crackers launched at the pitch.
Well on course
With the occurrence, the game had to be brought to a premature end and a decision on the game now being awaited.
During a first leg game second round game between the two played on 8 September 2012, Ivory Coast won 4-2.
In the reverse tie, Ivory Coast were well on course to win and sail on to the 2013 Cup of Nations to be held in South Africa from January 2012.
