Were doubtful as Kimani resumes training

Jesse were

Mathare United FC winger Jesse Were is doubtful for their 2012 Kenyan Premier League opening match against SoNy Sugar FC on Sunday 12 February in Awendo.

friendly

Were is currently nursing a hamstring injury sustained two weeks ago in a friendly match.

-I feel very bad to start the league from the terraces. I picked-up a hamstring injury during a build-up match a couple of weeks ago and I might be out for more than two weeks, Were told futaa.com.

skipper back

On contacting the Slum Boys’ coach Gabriel Kingi Njoroge, he said the injury wasn’t that way serious and the player will resume training this week.

-It's just a small strain and he'll be back before the end of the week, said Kingi.

But the 2008 KPL champions have been boosted by the return of skipper Antony Kimani, who resumed light training last week after a long lay-off due to injury.
