Were a concern ahead of weekend tie

Jesse Were

The 2008 Tusker Premier League (TPL) champions Mathare United will have to do a late fitness test on Jesse Were ahead of their league match on Saturday 20 October against Oserian as the striker is carrying a knee knock.

Not ruled out

According to team manager William Muluya, Jesse picked the knock in the team’s friendly match on Sunday 14 October against Korogocho Youth FC and he is a serious concern but he not ruled out as yet.

-The team is preparing well for the game though we are only worried about Jesse – he picked a knock on the knee in the friendly on Sunday and as we prepare for today’s training he is still struggling.

Friday call

-He is not yet ruled out; we will have to observe him on Friday then make a decision on him, he told futaa.com.

Jesse is one of the team’s best players; he has scored eight goals already this season and is the team’s top scorer alongside Andrew Tololwa who also has eight goals to his name.
