After the 2 – 1 weekend win over St. Mirren in the Scottish Cup in the quarter final, Kenyan international midfielder Victor Wanyama has shifted focus to the match against Juventus in the UEFA Champions League set for Wednesday 6 March.
Wanyama resumed his midfield role after playing in defence prior to the cup win and speaking after the St. Mirren match he told Celtic’s official site that he believes they can mint out a result even though the Glasgow side is trailing after the first leg.
With competition in the
team growing stiff, Wanyama said he hopes to get a place in the starting team.
-Everybody wants to go out on the pitch and do their best. We did our
best against St Mirren and hopefully we can do the same on Wednesday. We all want
to play, and if I get my chance I will do my best to help the team get a
positive result. That´s all we can do - go into it hoping for a positive
-We are not going to go in feeling defeated. You never know what can happen in football. We still believe we can do something - anything can happen, he said.
Celtic lost the first leg match 0 – 3 at home three weeks ago.
