After Victor Wanyama’s brilliant performance in Celtic’s 2-1 defeat to Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League Group G match on Tuesday, Hoops Coach Neil Lennon has valued the Kenyan international midfielder at £25m (equivalent to Ksh 3.42b).
This comes barely a day after the former Beerschot AC midfielder reportedly rejected a new contract offer from the reigning Scottish Premier League champions.
World class player
According to Lennon, the 21 year old midfielder is talented enough to play for the Catalan giants.
-I don't know (if the value is realistic) but it is what I value him at. I think he is a wonderful talent and he can only get better, Lennon was quoted by sporting life.com.
-If bids come in we are under no pressure to sell which is where we want to be with him at the minute.
-He has the world at is feet but his feet are here and he won't be going anywhere unless we get an out-of-this-world offer and even then, we don't have to sell him because he is on a long-term contract.
Wanyama, joined Celtic mid 2011 from the Belgian side and is under contract till 2015.
