In making his selection for the upcoming second leg of the African Nations Championships (CHAN), against Burundi, Harambee Stars caretaker Coach James Nandwa had AFC Leopards striker Allan Wanga in his plans, but was forced to leave him out as he is yet to regain perfect form after an injury break.

-We need to score early in the match to boost our chances of advancing to the next stage of the tournament. I already have Mike Baraza, (Moses) Arita and (Paul) Mungai spearheading the attack and with the addition of Enock Agwanda and Pinches (Peter Opiyo) the team’s attack force is now well structured, Nandwa told Futaa.com.

AFC ace

-We had Wanga in our plans, but he is yet to heal well, so we left him out.

Wanga picked an ankle fracture in the second-leg of the premier league season, one that saw him out of the Stars’ team that made it to the finals of the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup.

Upcoming

The match will be played on Saturday 5 January 2013, in Nairobi, with Kenya needing a two-goal advantage to stay in the tournament.
