Game plan
Upper Hill coach Samson Abuya speaking to futaa.com after the match said the early substitution of the team’s captain, Vincent Odongo, destroyed their game plan and played a key role in the lose.
Odongo had to be stretched-off after he sustained an ankle injury in the early minutes of the encounter and was replaced.
-I believe we would have done better if he (Odongo) was not injured, Abuya said after the match.
He also lauded the opponents (St.Anthony Kitale) saying they played very well and they deserved to win.
Strategy
-They had a good strategy and totally marked my star striker Michael Olunga. They deserved to win but we leave the tournament with our heads held up high and thank God for bringing us this far. It was our first time in the National finals and I believe we gave a good account of ourselves, he added.
St. Anthony Kitale, Upper Hill and Kakamega High schools will represent Kenya in the Airtel-sponsored Eastern Africa Secondary Schools games in Bujumbura, Burundi from Monday 20 August 2012.
