Former Tusker Premier League champions Ulinzi Stars beat their league counterparts Oserian 3-2, in a thrilling friendly match, on Saturday 13 October, at Oserian Sports Complex.
It’s a third successive defeat for the Flower-men against Ulinzi this season; 2-0 home and away in the league.
Harambee Stars trialist Wycliffe Ochomo was the hero of the match setting-up the first goal for Stephen Waruru in the 3rd minute before capitalizing on a defensive mix-up to scored the second after two minutes.
Ugandan import Edmond Murai finished off a fine two-man move to haul Oserian level after 17 minutes,
executing a thunderous shot that found keeper James Saruni flat-footed.
After the break, Murai made a superb run down the right, delivering a pass to Griffin Amakala, who then brushed off his marker but his shot hit the post.
Oserian leveled the score through Mathias Okoro after making a solo move from the midfield in the 83rd minute with Saruni well beaten.
With only a few minutes remaining before the final whistle, Justine Keronga struck a speculative volley to grab the winner.
Both teams were using the clash to prepare for their next league matches.
Ulinzi are currently ranked fourth on the table, 22 points ahead of 15th placed Oserian.
