Mathare United beat 2010 Kenyan Premier League Champions Ulinzi Stars 1-0 on Saturday 20 September 2012.
Speaking after the match, Ulinzi Stars Head Coach Sammy Simiyu said that Mathare played better than his team hence deserved to win.

-Our opponents were better than us today. We will now go back to the drawing board and rectify our mistakes before the next game, Simuyu said after the match.
Ulinzi is fourth in the log with 43 points from 26 matches and will face third-placed AFC Leopards in its next league match on Wednesday 17 October 2012.
