After the conclusion of the 2011 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) season on Saturday 26 November 2011, eight-time Champions Tusker denied defending Champions Ulinzi Stars the season title with a 1-0 win over relegated Congo United in a game played out at the Mumias Complex.
Despite winning their final game against Rangers 3-0 after a hat trick from Alfred Nderitu, Ulinzi ended up second on the log with 57 points, one behind Tusker.

The ale boys were not to be denied their ninth league title this season after being on pole position for a better part of the second leg. In the past two seasons, Tusker was always in the race but on both occasions eventually lost it to Sofapaka and Ulinzi Stars respectively.
