Ulinzi aim at top-four finish

Ulinzi Stars

Ulinzi Stars Team Manager Jack Matanguta has conceded defeat in the Soldiers’ bid to finish in the top three in this year’s Tusker Premier League following their 2-1 loss to AFC Leopards last Saturday.

Jonas Nahimana and Victor Ochieng’ were on target for AFC with Stephen Ocholla scoring Ulinzi’s goal at Mumias Sports Complex.

Stiff competition

The defeat saw Sofapaka leapfrog the Soldiers into fourth place, but according to Matanguta they still have high hopes for a top-four finish.

-The reality is that we cannot win the league or finish among the top three but for a top-four finish that’s a must.

-We are aware that there is stiff competition for the fourth position. Apart from us, Sofapaka and Thika United are also into it, but we are meeting Thika this weekend and we must beat them to achieve our target, said Matanguta to futaa.com.

Ulinzi are level on points [43] with sixth placed Thika but separated by goal difference.
