alexandra popp

Alexandra Popp, the Germen wonder woman who took the World by storm at the U17 and U20 Women World Cups, has said that the secret of her success is playing with boys.

 Action

The Wolfsburg striker will be in action in the UEFA Women Champions League alongside Nigeria's Francesca Ordega and Desire Oparanozie early November, and was the subject of a pre-game interview by the uefa website.

Popp, who was the highest scorer and best player at the FIFA U20 Women World Cup in 2010, told the website that for any young woman to be well grounded in football, she should try:

- To play in boys' teams for as long as possible. Always believe in yourself and work hard to improve your game.

-Also, stay grounded.

Age grade tourneys

Popp who plays alongside Navina Omilade, a German of Nigerian parentage, also advocated that aspiring young players should take part in youth tournaments that is commensurate with their ages, as this helps development.

- You gain a lot of experience and develop your game.

- It is the best time for development, technically and tactically

Wolfsburg will play against Roa on November 1.
