Patrick Kagogo
Tusker FC were 2-1 victors over ten man Thika United in a Tusker Premier League clash played at the Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday 30 September 2012.

Kenneth Wendo and Patrick Kagogo were the scorers for the league leaders as they took a significant step towards retaining their league title.

David Bogere was sent off for Thika with ten minutes to go for a second bookable offense.

Clifton Miheso scored for Thika early in the game on 16 minutes as he chipped in an exquisite free-kick that beat Tusker keeper Boniface Oluoch all the way.

It was reward for a good start from the visitors who had even better chances to add to the tally, but wasted by Moses Arita and Francis Kahata.

Tusker's best effort of the half was from Patrick Kagogo, whose shot was saved by Thika Keeper Lucas Indeche.

Scored early

The second half was all Tusker as they hit back early, Kagogo scoring on 52 minutes from a rebound after Indeche spilt a Wendo shot straight into his path.

From then on, you could sense a second coming and it fell for Wendo, who headed in a Joseph Mbugi cross at the far post.

Bogere, who was a first half sub for the injured Miheso was then shown a second yellow card for as needless foul on Peter Opiyo and with his dismissal went any hopes of a Thika revival.

Tusker now have a three point lead over AFC Leopards, the 51 points they have coming in from 26 games played. Thika on the other hand are fifth and effectively out of the title race.
