Sammy Pamzo Omollo is most definitely a man under pressure at the moment because of the growing injury list in his team, Tusker, as he prepares to face Western Stima in Kakamega, which could also count as the heavy toll he is paying for winning last year’s championship.
Fulcrum
The Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions will be forced to do without the services of another important player, Joseph Mbugi, who Pamzo described as a fulcrum of the team’s midfield in their CAF Champions League game against APR FC on Saturday 18 February.
The midfielder was injured early in the game then replaced by Joseph Odipo, who himself got unlucky to sustain a long term injury and Sammy Omollo has already ruled him out of the Bukhungu fixture. Pamzo also said the midfielder will be out for a week according to the doctor’s notes.
Out for a week
-Joseph Mbugi is definitely out of the game with Western Stima after the injury he sustained in the APR clash at the weekend but we expect him back in our next fixture because according to the doctor he will only be out for a week which is good news for us as we will also do greatly with his services in Kigali during the return leg, he told futaa.com.
Tusker travelled to Western Kenya on Monday 20 February where they were to set base briefly in Kisumu before proceeding to Kakamega for the game.
