Applications are flowing in for the vacant Tusker coach’s job after the Wednesday 15 August dismissal of former Kenyan international defender Sammy Pamzo Omollo following a string of poor results which saw the reigning KPL champions lose to Mathare United on Tuesday 14 August.
Ten applicants
According to the club’s chairman James Musyoki, about ten applications for the top job have been received so far and the club will peruse them then shortlist a few for interviews.
Confirming to futaa.com that both local and foreign coaches had shown interest in the job, Musyoki said they are looking to fill the position as soon as possible.
Locals and foreigners
-We are still receiving applications for the job which has attracted both locals and foreigners. Very soon we will hold a meeting to check the various applicants’ qualities then shortlist them for interviews.
-About ten coaches have applied for consideration and it remains our wish to fill the post as quickly as possible so that our campaign is not derailed, he said.
George Maina, who served under Pamzo as the assistant coach, was slotted in as the stand in coach while a permanent replacement is sought.
