Turkey 2013: Hosts plan Paraguay friendly

Turkey 2013

FIFA U20 World Cup 2013 hosts Turkey are hoping for a nice show in front of their fans when the Junior Mundial kicks off in some weeks time and have thus  announce they will play their last friendly before the start of the competition against Paraguay U20.

Turkey U20 will face fellow World Cup participants Paraguay U20 on 14 June at the Kasımpaşa Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stadium at 18:00 (GMT).

The match falls during the training camp period which begins on 3 June.

Why Paraguay

Turkey U20 manager Feyaz Ucar explained to turkishfootball.com that his team decided to play Paraguay because they play similar style like teams in their group

-Paraguay play a similar style of football to the teams we will face in the group stage of the World Cup.

-It will be an opportunity for us to asses out strengths and weaknesses before the tournament begins.

-As our U19 and U20 teams have already been involved in multiple friendlies and competitions recently, we believe playing just the one friendly against Paraguay will be sufficient

Turkey are in Group C alongside Colombia, El Salvador and Australia.
