Trophy hands KPL champions a head start

Kenyan Premier League champions Tusker FC are set to kick off the 2012 season on a high after they adding yet another feather in their cup last weekend by winning the DSTV Super Cup.

According to defender Fred Ajwang’ the players have been motivated by the latest developments at the club and they have declared intent to maintain the standards.

Morale booster

-The trophy helped us build confidence since it was a rather tough match. Winning it therefore was a good start for us this season and a clear indicator of more to come.

-It is also aiding us approach our first match with buoyancy since my teammates and I have their morale boosted.

Tusker won the trophy after seeing of fellow finalists Gor Mahia FC 4-1 via post-match penalties. This was after both teams settled for a 1-1 stalemate in the normal time on Sunday 5 Feb at Nyayo National Stadium.
