Tusker Premier League (TPL) side Rangers FC missed a penalty but still managed to get a draw in their build up match against Nairobi Provincial League side Uprising FC which was played at the Railways club on Tuesday 11 September.
The lower league side was the first on the score sheet early in the game courtesy of Benson Nyongesa’s well taken shot in the seventh minute as they looked to build on the weekend win over Eastleigh Youth in the Provincial League.
Rangers won a penalty on the 70th minute but on loan Cameroonian national Baldwin Ngwa skewed his team’s real chance to level matters, after his miss from 12 yards.
The TPL side was, however, presented another chance to get back into the game with just three minutes remaining following Lucas Kauka’s foul in the box. This time Ngwa left it for Edgar Waudo who successfully converted the penalty.
Rangers will play Thika United in their next league assignment.
