Nyanza Provincial League side Sori United, handed Miuru a 2-0 defeat in the finals of the Nyatike Constituency CDF tournament, played on Sunday 16 September to lift the crown.
Earlier Sori had beaten Kaler 3-1 in the semi-finals, after edging out Karungu in the preliminaries.
The win in the finals saw them receive a KSh15,000 cash prize and 20 footballs, from area Member of Parliament Edick Anyanga Omondi.
Second placed Miuru took home KSh10,000 and 15 balls.
The win served to show Sori’s head Coach Bernard Kizito how far his team had come and he says he is happy with the progress.
-I am impressed by how fast the team is growing and I am certain that we shall keep up with this great performance until we get promoted to the Division One league, Kizito told futaa.com.
Sori is based in the Karungu Division of Nyatike.
