Timbe’s Genk remains unbeaten

After nine rounds of play in Belgium’s top flight the Jupiler League, KRC Genk still remains unbeaten.

On Saturday 29 September 2012, the team was forced to come from behind to see off visiting KV Mechelen 2-1 in a game played at the Cristal Arena.

The visitors went up 0-1 on 14 minute through De Witte but regular scorer Jellen Vossen drew Genk level with a goal a minute to the half hour mark. The winner for Genk came 14 minutes to time through striker Benjamin De Ceulaer.

Genk is placed third

Kenyan striker Ayub Timbe Masika who has featured in four league games this season did not feature in the game.

After round nine of games, Genk is placed third in the 16-team log with 17 points, just three off leaders club Brugge and second placed Anderlecht the reigning Champions.
