Collins Gatusso Okoth walked away from football
on Thursday 27 September 2012.
In his walk away, he sighted frustrations as a major reason and a pursuit of education as the other.
Former international defender Tiellen Oguta, now an assistant Coach at Division One side KRA, is asking the player not to walk away as he is a rare talent.
-Okoth should rescind his call and return to football. Frustrations in football are there, he said to futaa.com
Stood my ground
-He is not as indisciplined as he has been dubbed. He just needs to be nurtured.
-Unlike (Mario) Balotelli who can’t be handled, Gatusso is a player who can be talked to
-We need to look and find out the issues that bedevil him. Sincerely speaking there are very few midfielders that are as good as him
Capped 16 times
-Back then, I was a victim just like him. I always stood my ground like he does and I was called indisciplined when I was not
-He needs to be nurtured by coaches. Some of us are here and can help. We went through what he is going through and we are ready to help.
In the very recent past, Okoth, capped 16 times for Kenya, played for Sofapaka, Gor Mahia and Tusker in the local Premier League.
