Three derbies on the log in Upper Eastern

Each football region usually has a match that is expected to generate more excitement than others. This kind of match is generally referred to as a derby.

The Upper Eastern Provincial league has six derbies in any given season, three in each leg and with the second leg underway three are on schedule.

On Sunday 23 September, Isiolo Youth will be hosting Taqwa at the Isiolo Stadium, in the first of the derbies.

The two teams are based in Isiolo.

Other derbies

The other derby match is pits Central Imenti sides Kithirune and Scorpion Githongo, set for play on 30 September.

The Meru derby, between Kenya Methodist University [KeMU] and league leaders Kambakia Christian Centre [KCC] will be played on 20 October.
