Italy-based Kenyan youngster Paul Zizou Thiongo has lauded the Football Kenya Federation for appointing Henri Michel as the Harambee Stars coach saying that the Frenchman will bring professionalism that has long lacked in the National team.
Best news
-Michel’s appointment was the best news I’ve heard about Kenyan football in a long time. He has experience and will bring professionalism in the team, Thiongo told futaa.com.
-I also believe, unlike the other coaches we’ve had, he’ll pick the players who really deserve to be in the team, he added.
The 17-year old Thiongo joined Italian Serie B side Empoli FC Academy five years ago and now plays for the Youth team.
Call up
He has never played for the National team, a feat he hopes to achieve under the Michel reign.
-I hope to do well this season and hopefully get a call up to the National team, he said.
Before moving to Italy, Thiongo played for Ligi Ndogo and Impala FC.
