Thika skipper eyes top five

Nyamberi

Despite the recent unimpressive run in the Tusker Premier League (TPL), Thika United captain Vincent Nyaberi is keeping the hope that his team can rise above the setback and finish in one of the top five slots in the 16 – team league.

Prepared

Thika United is schedule to face off with Ulinzi Stars in Nakuru on Sunday 28 October in one of the matches that could have an impact on the team’s top five ambitions and Nyaberi says they are prepared to take on the 2010 champions.

-We are well prepared for the weekend clash with Ulinzi Stars and despite having to face them in Nakuru I am hopeful that we will register a positive result. We are eyeing a top five finish and to achieve that we have to break down teams like Ulinzi Stars, it is possible, he told futaa.com.

43 points

Ulinzi Stars are fifth on the 16-team log with 43 points, same to Thika United who are sixth but with an inferior goal difference.

The Thika side still has to face Gor Mahia and Chemelil Sugar, the team leaves for Nakuru on Saturday 27 October.
