Thika laments over blunt striking

Kepha Aswani

Thika United’s head coach John Kamau has challenged his strikers to improve their performance heading into the final two matches of the season.

Speaking to the club’s official site thikaunitedfc.com, Kamau lamented that a blunt strike force had cost them wins in their recent matches.

Wasted chances

-We created a lot of chances in our game with Ulinzi Stars and they were no major threats on our side and we kept pressing but we could not convert the chances into goals.

-My hopes for a top five finish are relatively high since we just we need to win our remaining two matches. Sharpening my forwards is the main focus now, he insisted.

The Brookside Boys are placed sixth on the standings tied in points with fifth placed Ulinzi Stars. They are set to host Chemelil Sugar over the weekend.

Kephar Aswani is the club's leading striker with 12 goals to his name but he has seemingly dropped out of the Golden Boot contention. Sofapaka's John Baraza leads the chase with 17 goals.
